In 1979 Philippe Van Snick restates his artistic calling through a research of the physical experience by means of painting methods. With his well-considered restricted palette of ten colours (red, yellow, blue, orange, green, violet, white, black, gold and silver) he exploits since then their spatial and temporal possibilities. So far, this research resulted in varied and different work series which embody in paintings, murals, relieves, sculptures and even spacious installations. A strict minimalistic conceptual demarche supports this big variety in spite of this.

In 2005, Philippe Van Snick realized “Human Passions” for Etablissement d’en Face Projects. The white framed house front plate above the show window of Etablissement was monochrome painted once a month in accordance with his ten colour palette. A poster in the porch followed the history of the successive colour fields by means of a photographic documentation. That way, “Human Passions” realized the possibility of various experiences for a large public..
