“The photographs I’ve selected are from the many my mother made during the early 1990s. These were used in classrooms as educational tools: in reenacting the ethical scenarios depicted, students would learn social skills such as empathy, collaboration, and conflict resolution. Some of these photographs feature my sister, my friends, and myself posing amid rearranged sections of our house in Seattle. During this period she also produced videos regarding drugs and violence, perhaps those are for another time.”

“A visual novel chronicles my time working in the tickle business. The novel is accompanied by photos from shoots in Los Angeles.

The exhibition also includes an oversized check from Martin’s former employer, Fatbastid, LLC; a large and famously red felt wall installed in the home of Etienne Wynants; and an unfinished video, Winter Break at an Unfriendly German Mine​.
