FRIDAY 11.06.04 AT 8PM
Twice, French philosopher Daniel Franco has presented readings in the basement of Etablissement. In these readings, Franco handled a form of poetic-semantic association. These was not intended as an academic readings, for they remained somewhere between philosophy, lecture and a social anthropology. Consisting of a dissection of quotes, a weaving of words and sentences into a hypnotic monologue.
In the second reading a voice sampler was used. In addressing the public spoke with a normal, slowly hypnotising cadence. With each new paragraph the tone of his voice was raised. By the end of the reading his voice had mutated to a robotic dwarf-voice, no longer fitting with the speaker. In other words, the concentration was placed upon the voice and not the speaker.
