The evening will put together some of Ed Atkins’ works from 2009 to 2012. These earlier videos layer found footage and digital imagery into a rich flow of mumbled monologues and clearly spoken salutations, of long lasting spheric, musical soundscapes and chippy blops, blings and cracks.  Taking into account the longings of a digitally altered self as well as the tougher facts of the Unchangeable, the work outgrows common video formats to introduce a new, direct, and intimate voice to the screen.

VIDEO SCALES is a series of screenings
organized together by Etablissement d’en face and BOZAR,
seeking to present artists working with moving image and language,
using video as a means for understanding and misunderstanding.
